Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever been in a room with twenty five-year-olds for up to six hours a day? Well...my students are kindergarteners enrolled in a full-day program. They are from a low-income urban community.
My students are faced with many environmental obstacles that are beyond their control. Since we stress such a demanding curriculum, my students need a little break from the academics and just need time to get all that energy out! My students have shown great interest in jumping rope and handball. We have been very resourceful, and we share equipment with seven other kindergarten classes, but it can be very difficult with limited resources.
This is where you come in! My students will need twenty individual jump ropes, five large jump ropes and ten playground rubber balls to play handball. My students will benefit from your generous gift in many ways. My students are learning coordination and each child will have the opportunity to play without the restrictions of limited resources. Physical activity is so important for children and they will get plenty of activity. My students will learn to jump, hop, and play handball without having to wait their whole recess in line.
Your generous gift will help my students get some of the basic school items that we grew up with. With so many budget cuts to education, we have been limited to resources that are considered essential for academic growth. Thank you again for investing in my students' education!
