Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hands-on learning is the best thing for the young mind! I teach PreK, 4 or 5 years olds, at a Title one public elementary school. There are two 3-hour classes.

I have total of 36 students. (18 students in each class) There are five non-English speakers, and twenty five students speak a language other than English at home. I believe in hands-on learning, not worksheets. It is the best way for the young minds, and also for the English learners.

I love creating hands-on math activities. It is better to use the manipulative, 3-D objects, than pictures on the papers. I requested the manipulative pieces with which I can create games for patterning, counting, sorting, and more. Also for the English learners, it is better that they try or experience with their hands than just looking at the pictures or listening that does not make any sense for them. Also the students are able to experience self-discovery. I think that it is one of the best ways to give them joys of learning.

Your help will help my students to enjoy and also understand the math skills. When the moment a child realizes that the learning is fun, I believe that the child's future in learning changes to better. It is precious to see the children's eyes when they find themselves feeling getting "smarter." Your donation for the math manipulative will give the moment.
