My Students
Hi, I am a physical therapist in an inner-city district. I work with children ages 3-22 who receive special education services in 8 different schools. The children I work with all have some sort of difficulty with gross motor skills. Some are learning to hold their head up, some are learning how to use a wheelchair, and some are working on their strength and balance on the playground. My students all work hard to reach their goals and would greatly benefit from your support!
My Project
My students have various physical disabilities and need support to access their school environment. The knee immobilizers will help get children who cannot walk independently upright into a standing frame. The gait belts will assist children who have difficulties with balance navigate the stairs and playground. Wedges will help children who have low muscle tone sit up at their desk instead of slumping over it and a transfer board will help a student independently get in and out of their wheelchair.
Safe mobility in school is necessary and my student need these supports in order to have that!
