Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class of fantastic kindergarten boys, (yes, all boys) are ready to learn! I have eighteen students- many of which are English Language Learners (ELL) and most will be experiencing school for the first time. The school is an inner city charter school that is beautifully diverse and is a wonderful representation of our community.

These sweet kids are ready to learn, and having the right materials gets them one step closer to a brighter future.

As a kindergarten teacher trying to navigate teaching during a pandemic, I want to ensure that my students are getting the best education possible!

My Project

As a teacher I try my best to make sure our classroom days are filled with excitement and that the activities are not only academically appropriate but fun for everyone. But no matter how fun an activity is there is still nothing like recess.

Our students receive 30 minutes of recess every day but they are in need of materials to make the most of this time.

Currently we have a few hula hoops and a couple soccer balls but we would love to add more materials that can engage more students.
