My students need an assortment of playground equipment, including a scoopball set, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, playground balls, whiffleballs and bats.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Ferro's classroom raised $438
This project is fully funded
As an urban school between two busy side roads, we have few resources when it comes to recess. A small playground was built for us on blacktop. It has with some slides and a pole to slide down.
Often we have recess scheduled with another class, if not two or three. The playground gets crowded and this often leads to situations everyone would like to avoid. How do you avoid everyone wanting to be in the playground when there is nothing else for them to do?
EQUIPMENT!!
Every summer I hit the dollar stores for things my kids can play with at recess. I buy everything from hula hoops to plastic golf sets.
Unfortunately, the quality is not the best and things are often broken before winter comes. When we go out for recess again in the spring, we are left with just the playground.
At recess, students have the chance to engage in independent free time. I would like to teach my kids about working together to have fun. I want them choosing activities and games that suit them. I am asking for a wide variety of games and equipment that will give them the much needed exercise many do not get outside of school.
Most of all, I want them to have fun!
