Help me give my students some interactive math tools for learning and modeling basic concepts!

My Project

Our students are eager and intelligent scholars who need strong foundations. Sometimes that means ensuring students can quickly pull multiplication facts from memory so that real brain power is conserved for higher order reasoning. Flashcards are possibly the most fun way to accomplish that muscle memory.

Sometimes the strong foundations that need to be built come from representational objects that help them move from concrete to abstract thought.

The students will be able to actually visualize polynomial expressions through these algebra tile pieces. Even some of the basic principles of solving equations can be modeled this way.

Putting materials into our learners' hands that make participation easy yet meaningful cements these foundations. These mini dual-purpose whiteboards (one side blank, one side showing the x,y coordinate plane) make the practice of so many math concepts more approachable while strengthening group participation.
