Help me give my students the gift of CREATIVITY with a Cricut Maker, laptop, and accessories, so they can make projects and assignments as creative as they are!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school, meaning over 75% of the students come from low-income families, but this does not stop these fifth graders from working hard in class and doing the best they can. My kiddos range from a student who arrived from Cuba three days before school started and speaks very little English (ELL), to students with learning disabilities (ESE), to those who are a year or two ahead in math and reading (Gifted). Those more advanced students buddy up with the lower students and find creative ways to help them learn.
How do I describe my students...simply an AMAZING group of kids.
They are learning to work together to ensure each other's success and I could not be any prouder of them!
My Project
My students are highly motivated and enjoy learning in a variety of creative ways. A Cricut Maker machine, laptop, and accessories, would allow my gifted students to help create anchor charts and manipulatives that will help the ELL and ESE students to better understand the concepts and skills being taught in class. This would give the gifted students the opportunity of enrichment in their learning and the ELL and ESE students would benefit from the visuals made to help them. All students would be able to use the machine to produce creative projects as they work together in cooperative groups.
Working together will not only allow my kiddos the chance to learn how to help each other in class but will also allow them to explore different ways to present what they have learned...skills that will be beneficial to them in their adult lives.
Together they will create group, as well as individual, projects to demonstrate mastery of the Common Core standards in the areas of Math, Science, and Social Studies. My kiddos will be able to create posters, books, Science Fair projects... you name it.... the sky is the limit. There will be no stopping my students from designing and creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces to enhance their learning.
More than half of students from low‑income households
