Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
“Organizing is something you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up."– A. A. Milne, Author of Winnie the Pooh. My middle school students have cognitive differences that can sometimes limit their independence. I know that if we organize our messy supply room, we remove some obstacles to them gaining more independence. Our classroom storage room is a mess. We want to organize our space with clear and labeled bins. The goal is to be able to have students go retrieve the items they need independently. We are always working towards independence for our students, and I know that if the space is better organized the students will be able to find what they need.
Independence is always the goal, and organization helps us reach our goals.
When our students can do things on their own, they gain confidence in themselves. We will also waste less time because I don't have to get their supplies out for them.
