My students are a fun, curious, and energetic bunch. At 5 years old, they enter the classroom ready to learn, explore, and discover. Their love for learning is evident in everything they do! They are at an exciting age where they want to know just about everything. My students enjoy learning through play, hands-on activities, and manipulatives to increase their engagement and understanding of the content. They are encouraged to learn in ways that are best suited to their needs. As they are taught how to self-regulate, their independence both in and out of the classroom is fostered and encouraged daily.
My Project
We teach children at a very young age to be independent in many ways. One of the ways I'd like to foster my student's independence is by teaching my students' organization skills. I am requesting bins and shelves to teach my students to sort and place objects where they belong. I am also requesting classroom posters and stickers to motivate and reinforce their positive behaviors.
These simple skills make a lasting impact on my student's learning because it allows the classroom to run smoothly, builds lifelong skills in organization and independence, and most importantly, it contributes to helping my students take ownership of the classroom community.
I want to provide my students with the best learning experience by motivating, engaging, and supporting their early development in the classroom that will establish skills to build on their academic and social success.
