In fourth grade, we have eight sections. In my classroom, I have 23 students. My school has about 500 students. I teach grammar and spelling, writing, reading, math and social studies. My school's vision statement is: Working together to promote lifelong learning skills in an encouraging environment where everyone feels successful.
We need pencils, erasers, glue, and pencil organizers to get organized and stock up on more materials.
My students need an extra supply or pencils for the year, as well as glue for different projects.
My Project
If my project if fully funded, my students will be stocked with pencils, erasers, glue and organizers. In the organizers, we will put materials that they can use for writing and math. This will include pencils, erasers, markers, glue and scissors. My students are always asking for more pencils, so I would like to have an abundance of pencils!
We are starting a new reading/literacy rotation where students come to my classroom for the grammar lesson.
For example, if I am teaching idioms and they need to write an idiom, I will have the organizer/caddies at my guided reading table ready for them to quickly use for that lesson. I will use the glue for various projects such as our Christmas project presents for their families. The stickers will be used for their math tests, writing final essays and books reports and assignment notebooks. The calendar will be used everyday instead of using an expo board.
