My Students
Were you a messy child who couldn't find the proper materials when asked to complete a task?
I teach 23 eager First grade students in an inner city school.
They are excited to learn but we spend too much time trying to find materials and organize our work spaces. Materials and overall storage is limited and teachers are left to find ways to create a neat and organized learning environment.
My Project
I am requesting storage trays for each child. Each child will have a tray at their table (we don't have desks for storage). Students will be able to put their materials in their storage trays. This will limit time wasted while students are trying to find their supplies. This will also keep their tables and work spaces organized whether they are working at their table or in a different location in the classroom.
I know I am much more productive when I am organized and I have all of the supplies required to complete a task.
As an adult it is easier to provide this type of environment for myself. As a 6 year old, creating this organized work space can be difficult. Storage trays will help students keep themselves organized and create a much more conducive environment for learning and achieving.
