Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 40 amazing survivors of Hurricane Harvey, which hit us at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. They went through traumatic stress when their neighborhood flooded for days and drastically displaced them from their homes, and even their school.
My students are reaching for the stars in their love for math and science.
They are 7-8 year old children that have experienced things that some people can only imagine. Despite it all, they walk into the classroom with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. I am truly honored to be their teacher and always look forward to my time with them.
My Project
After Hurricane Harvey, we were displaced from our home campus. Through many generous donations from various sources, including DonorsChoose, my students have been able to rebuild some materials for our classroom.
Now it's time to get organized and put everything in its place!
We are needing storage and charging stations for the iPads and Laptops in our classroom. By having a charging station, my students will independently store and charge the iPads and Laptops. We also need various sizes of plastic tubs to organize the manipulatives and various games that we have in our classroom. Through your generous donation, my students will learn responsibility and will learn to take care of their classroom. Thank you very much for your generosity!
