Organization is one of the major keys to help a student learn! My classroom has tables, so my students do not have their own space under their seats to store their materials throughout the day. The pockets that I have used in the past are worn and need to be replaced.
I teach 3rd math and science at a Title One school.
They are a great group of kids and love to learn. Many of them come to school with little to no supplies, but that does not stop them from wanting to learn. They love to soak up knowledge and love hands on activities.
Most of my students are use to having their own space at their desks from past classrooms. Things tend to get cluttered at the tables in my classroom when everyone has all their items out at the same time. The 30 chair pockets will allow everyone to have a place to put their things and only pull out what they need. The extra small pocket may even help save pencils that are constantly "lost" during the day. The cluttered tables also makes it difficult to complete group work because time is taken up moving everyone things out of the way. These things then end up on the floor in a scattered mess. I teach two classes so the students will be able to have a place for the supplies while they are in my room.
My project is important to me because I want my students to have as few distractions as possible while they are learning.
Having a nice, clean organized space will help them to pay better attention to the lesson and always know where their things are located.
