This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is designed to get kids active even in the classroom. Students have found themselves preoccupied with social media and video games like never before. In fact, I have one student who says he spends an average of 5 hours a day on his playstation. Don't get me wrong, at least playing video games is keeping him occupied at home. However, I did have one student mention to me how much he likes playing outdoors because tablet screens get old after a while. This got me thinking, why not outdoor activities for our students who are asking to be let out of the classroom. After speaking with other students, the consensus is they enjoy playing outdoor sports like football and basketball. Our footballs are limited right now so I'm using funds to buy more footballs, football sets, and paddle games for several other grade levels, as well as indoor activities like Charades for our younger students.
