Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Let's get moving! It's so important to keep kids physically active. When they are active they are happy, they are more focused, they are more alert, and thus, they learn better.
I teach kindergarten in a high poverty school.
Many of my students receive free or reduced price lunch and are learning English as a second language.
Despite their numerous challenges, my students are hard-working and eager to learn. They are always willing to try new things and they always find the fun in learning.
My Project
Physical activity is so important to overall health and it contributes immensely to a child's ability to focus and learn.
I am requesting a parachute with a CD and book of activities, activity scarves, a ball balancing game, jump ropes, cones, and an equipment cart to hold it all.
With these materials, my students will have what they need to be healthy and active, allowing them to perform their absolute best in the classroom.
