This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the privilege of working with 17 wonderful, energetic, and ambitious 4-year-old students every day. Our school is one of our district's Pre-K classes available to the families.
In our room, we will focus on skills to enhance our approaching learning by participating, following rules, and taking turns.
We will also work on skills to help us develop social and emotional through playing with others, resolving conflicts, and communicating.
We will work on writing our own names and identifying letters, numbers, counting, and shapes within our literacy and math approach.
Lastly, we will be able to be creative by expressing our own ideas and engaging in dramatic play.
My Project
The Pre-K students will develop their small motor skills by molding and manipulating the sensory sand to form ice cream cones as well as sensory dough and giant ink pads to coordinate the use of arm, hand and finger tasks.
Pre-K students are required to develop physical well-being and motor developments skills.
The learning shape and colors rug will help them use their non-locomotor skills with balance, control, and coordination. They will show this by bending, stretching and twisting to each shape and color on the rug.
Four-year-olds need and require lots of movement throughout their academic day.
