My Students

My students are a wonderful multi-age preschool bunch! My students are three, four, and five-year-olds who love to create and explore. Our school is in a high poverty area in rural South Carolina. Our school is also a public Montessori school which provides lots of hands-on learning opportunities for our students! My students need these supplies to help them discover the world around them. Learning about the world at a young age will set them up for success and will help them become global citizens!

My Project

These materials will help my students increase their gross motor, cooperation, and coordination skills through fun indoor and outdoor physical activities! Since my students are not yet old enough to attend a special area, it is extremely important that these areas (physical education, art, and music) are integrated throughout the day in an age appropriate way. These materials will allow me to intergarate technology and academics into fun and innovative physical activities for my 3 to 6 year old students. Allowing students of this age to move while they learn is proven be beneficial to academic ability and life long physical health. The Apple Lighting Digital AV Adapter (projector) and Excelvan Outdoor Portable Movie screen will be used to project fun physical activity games from an iPad onto a wall on our outdoor classroom. The students will throw the 4E's Knobby balls at the screen to actively participate in fun and engaging learning games. The ABC's of yoga books and cards and the other yoga books will allow me to integrate the alphabet and literacy into fun mentally and physically stimulating whole group learning activities. The physical activity number cubes will allow me to incorporate math and counting into our learning. The students will take turns rolling the dice and we will all do the physical activity listed on the die the amount of times found on the number die. The dance ribbons will be used to incorporate more physical activity and dance into our daily music time. Thank you in advance for helping my students develop a love for learning through fun and engaging activities that are good for both their bodies and their minds!
