Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have seen our students become much more engaged in recreational sports and activities during P.E. and recess now that we have more organized sports on campus. Students across grade levels are participating in weekly tournaments and cheering each other on. It has been incredible to see the change in our students. There are fewer conflicts and a stronger community felt across the grade levels when there are more opportunities at structured play.
With the amount of wear and tear our sports equipment has endured, we are left with only a few supplies left for the remainder of the school year.
We are also facing a huge budget cut in the coming school year, so we'd greatly appreciate your generous support in replenishing our equipment so that we can continue with our organized & structured sports activities. We have upcoming soccer, dodgeball and badminton units in 4-6th grades. We also will be teaching 1st-3rd graders hand-eye coordination skills so having the equipment will really help with this unit. This will greatly impact not only our classroom, but the whole school!
