My Project
Motivation and engagement play a vital role in student success. There are strategies that we can use to make our lessons more interesting, but they may not be as successful if your classroom is dull and lacks the materials that you need to make it engaging. This year, I want to give my students a warm and colorful classroom environment that will make them comfortable and inspired. I also want to provide them with activities that spark their creativity and give them a safe space to speak their thoughts and share their experiences, especially after what my students have gone through after the Lahaina fire. This change will make my students’ classroom experience more stimulating and encouraging.
My classroom will be decorated with colorful anchor charts and other class designs with the use of a colored printer.
The magnetic notebook will be a great tool for modeling and organization. The coloring materials and other supplies will be used for poster projects and activities. My class listens to podcasts or YouTube videos, but they get easily irritated because of the poor quality of headphones in my room. Using comfortable headphones will be a game-changer! Plus, I’ll be able to add voice-recorded student output as it comes with a microphone as well. This is extremely helpful for my English Language Learners who don’t have the confidence to engage in collaborative discussions.
To enhance their focus, I will play classical music on the speaker during our independent reading and writing sessions. They can sit comfortably on the floor using colorful pillows, which gives a homey vibe when students engage in literature circles and share their thoughts about what they read. Finally, the toner cartridge will ensure that I will not run out of ink when I print their impressive essays.
