This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The world is in the 21st century however, our classroom is not. Technological literacy skills are extremely important to to adult success. Therefore my students will greatly benefit from a computer center.

I teach first grade English language learners (ELLs) in a high needs public school located in a large suburban area.

My students come from Spanish speaking, Low-income and low-education homes. Some have special needs and require individualized education plans. Currently many of my students rarely have access to computers at home.

My Project

I would like to have a computer center. At this center students may work independently on developing language arts, reading and writing skills. By using specific websites and applications my students will be able to work at their level, and I will be able to quickly and easily track their progress. Plus, they will be able to create their own books, notes, and other print material to encourage their writing skills. Moreover, through the use of technology my students will become more "tech savvy".

With your support , my students may become not only academically but also technologically literate, which is so crucial to their future success.

With these resources they will be presented with different, fun, and engaging strategies to learn to read and write.
