Mrs. Hite from University City MO is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students consistent and high-quality access to technology! I believe that they should not be denied tools of learning because of the lack of funds. They deserve the same access as peers in their area.

I am truly blessed to be chosen as my students' teacher. My students come prepared to school to do the best they can. I teach in a Title 1 school where 100% of our students receive free lunch.
"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." - Desmond TutuMy school teaches our students to put their heart into all that they do. My students do just that, but some of my students come from homes that have limited resources to expose them to future careers. I am striving to support my students by preparing them for a literacy-rich world. I strive to create a classroom where my students are provided a strong foundation in reading and phonics. Adding iPads to instruction during our intervention time would be a great asset because they learn best when they are engaged in purposeful, exciting and motivational learning.
I want this project to be the light that my students need.
With the addition iPads, my classroom, we will be one of the only classrooms in the school that has access to such technology. My students will be able to access apps that reinforce skills and enable higher level learning. The iPads will aid in helping students who are tactile and visual learners take charge of their education and individualize their learning experiences. Having a tool like an iPad will become a vehicle that will help create authentic learning experiences in the classroom as well as build 21st-century skills that our children need in order to be successful in a technical world. My students will be able to work in centers with the iPads, writing, reading, learning phonemic awareness skills, and more during our intervention block.
