This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third graders are intelligent, inquisitive, resilient, and they love to learn. It is my utmost privilege to have the opportunity to teach them!

Learning is more fun when you have all the tools you need to be successful from day one.

Students feel like they are part of the classroom when you give them materials of which they can take ownership.

Having these supplies will allow us to hit the ground running, as we can begin writing in our journals on day one with our new composition books and pencils. This sets up the foundation for them to be successful in writing for the entirety of the school year. We can also immediately get going in Phonics and Math, because we will have plenty of dry erase markers for our white boards, which are an integral part of these lessons. These items make our lessons more interactive and engaging, which means students have higher success rates.

We can also do some fun cut and paste activities, because every student will have a pair of scissors. Cutting and pasting is still a big part of third grade.

The stapler will be used by both students and the teacher to staple every day papers, as well as student creations, like books!
