Let's Get Interactive With Anchor Charts

Help me give my students an anchor chart easel that will enable learning to be much more interactive. Anchor charts are essential to learning new topics in a kindergarten classroom.

My Students

As a teacher, I am fortunate to have a classroom full of superstars. For the majority of my students, their personal situations are not always as bright as their smiles. Many of the students come from low-income households. This demographic of students lacks experiences such as going out of the country or even riding a train. With that being said, the situations these students face do not define who they are or where they are going.

With the right tools and support, the sky is the limit for these superstars.

These students have such a genuine love for learning it roars through their voices as they chant different phonics songs in the morning. Having a classroom environment that is welcoming and refreshing gives these students hope!

My Project

An anchor chart is a tool used to support instruction and to move students toward achieving success with lessons taught in class. Anchor charts are created during the instruction of a lesson. Anchor Charts make learning much more fun because the teacher is able to create the chart with scholar's input.

It has been really hard creating anchor charts without an easel but in due time I know me and my scholars will have what we need.

The anchor chart easel also has a dry erase board which is perfect because I have limited whiteboard access. The district I teach in has smartboards installed in each classroom. The smartboards take up just about all of the white board space in the classroom. The whiteboard on the easel is low enough for scholars to access for writing too.

Overall, this grant being funded will allow me and my scholars to get back to enjoying the magic of anchor charts!
