Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are more than where they come from or where they live. My students have more potential than I ever imagined my classroom would have.
They are dreamers, they are team players, they are hard working and more than any of those they are inspiring.
Many of my students have hardworking parents who work late and many siblings to take care of before they even start to think about taking care of themselves. They are talented and motivated but just need a little more support to reach their full potential.
My Project
My students need test tubes to be able to have experiments on their desk and up close and personal as well as safety goggles for each scientist.
These materials will help engage the students allowing them to place themselves in the shoes of real life scientists.
They also need hands on materials that allow each student to see fractions and manipulate shapes in math class. Having to use one set of fraction bars for the whole class under an elmo is hard for them to grasp a concept. These materials will help them achieve what I know is possible and make gains!
