This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are ambitious and love hands-on learning. With Spring around the corner they are anxious to get started with planting seeds so there will be enough time to witness the growing process.

Help me give my students a sturdy indoor greenhouse, grow lights, seed starter kits, soil, and other tools needed to begin their own mini gardens and learn how to grow their own food that they can share with family and friends.

Students learn how to eat healthier in our health classes. They are learning about the dangers of overindulging in too many sugary snacks and fast foods. They are excited to know that they can actually grow their own food! They are more excited to eat the vegetables they actually see growing by their own hands.

This is truly a life-long skill. Students will not only learn how to grow healthy food, but they will learn about the negative effects on the body of an unhealthy diet as it relates to the brain and body in general.
