My Students
The majority of my students are from low-income families in Flint, MI. My students do not have the resources available to them that so many students around the country take for granted. Despite a lack of resources, many of the students come to school and try their best to get the education they deserve.
When many of my students are dealing with so many negative things in their lives, my goal is to give them the best possible educational experience so they are inspired to continue working hard towards improving their lives through education.
My Project
I currently run an after school video game club for my students. It gives my students a chance to relax, make friends, and have some friendly competition. It is also a chance to build relationships with each other and with the staff who volunteer to help with the video game club.
Our TVs are in desperate need of being replaced.
They are 20-30-year-old box TVs that do not always work properly. Getting some new TVs would make the games look better and bring more enjoyment to my students. Any donation is greatly appreciated and would go a long way towards helping make the video game club more enjoyable for my students.
