This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their boundless potential and their unwavering enthusiasm for learning. Each and every one of them possesses unique talents, interests, and perspectives that contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our classroom community.

The wiggle seat cushions that we are requesting will serve as invaluable tools to support our students' learning and well-being in several ways:

Enhanced Focus and Engagement: For some students, maintaining focus during instruction time can be a challenge. The wiggle seat cushions provide a discreet outlet for excess energy, allowing students to channel their fidgeting tendencies in a constructive manner. By providing gentle movement and sensory input, these cushions help students stay engaged and attentive, maximizing their learning opportunities in the classroom.

Promotion of Active Learning: The dynamic nature of the wiggle seat cushions encourages students to actively participate in their own learning process. Rather than feeling confined to their seats, students are able to move and adjust their posture as needed, promoting greater comfort and flexibility during lessons. This active approach to learning fosters a sense of ownership and empowerment among students, as they are able to choose the seating option that best suits their individual needs.

Support for Well-Being: Beyond academic achievement, the well-being of our students is of paramount importance. The wiggle seat cushions provide a supportive environment for students to regulate their sensory input and manage stress or anxiety levels.

Our goals for this project extend far beyond the acquisition of physical resources. We aim to create a classroom environment that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity, and nurtures the holistic development of each and every student. By providing access to tools like wiggle seat cushions, we are removing barriers to learning and fostering a culture of support and understanding.
