Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating through wobble cushions, stools, and kick bands gives students the freedom to wiggle and move while they complete classwork (without disrupting their classmates). I would love to give my students options in their seating in the classroom.
Giving them the opportunity to move while working helps them stay focused and on task.
Students are full of energy and have a difficult time sitting for extended periods of time during instruction. Giving my energetic 4th graders a choice in their seating helps build autonomy as well as gives them a feeling of ownership in our classroom.
I would love to give my students the choice in their seating including ones that allows them to wiggle while learning!
