My students need physical education equipment to enhance their hand and eye coordination skills and to learn how to work as a team.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what P.E. was like when you were in elementary school? Do you remember P.E. being fun? Well, I do and I enjoyed it! That's the problem with my students, they dread going to P.E. They don't enjoy it anymore because they are bored of the same activities everyday.
In our school, there are 90.35% Hispanic or Latino, 2.19% African Americans, 5.99% are white (non Hispanic), and 1.47% are Asian, Filipino, or pacific islander.
89% of the students are socioeconomically disadvantaged. Despite their economic background, these students strive to become productive, articulate, and responsible citizens. These students are developing as intrinsically motivated and independent learners. They come from a school where the staff is dedicated to working collaboratively as a professional learning community to ensure that all students receive an education that reflects data driven decisions, current curriculum, and researched based practices.
My Project
Currently, students think P.E. is just a chore that they need to do and they'd rather stay indoors than go outside. They don't enjoy P.E. anymore. If given the resources, students will have more respect and appreciate physical education. Instead of the usual games like "Duck Duck Goose" or kickball, why not teach them how to play soccer but with a twist. Instead of using a regular size ball use a giant ball! The children would have a blast! Also, if I have team building equipment students will not only learn to cooperate on the field but also in the classroom or at home. With the right equipment students will be physically fit and be able to develop team building skills.
Donations to this project will make a big impact on the lives of the students in my school.
They will not only have the opportunity to learn the skills to stay fit as they become adults. It will also enhance their team building skills for their future profession.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
