Let's Get Fit With Outdoor Education

My students need a speaker system and easel to manage outdoor activities, along with agility rings and ladders, jump ropes, bean bags, and balls to play various outdoor games.

My Students

My third grade students are bright, creative, and eager to learn. They genuinely love coming to school each day, ready to soak up all that they could and to participate in all the activities planned for them.

My students are active and energetic and love to be outdoors.

I can see their energy level dropping as they stay indoors all day behind their desks. They need time to get up and move around and having equipment to play fun physical education games would be a great blessing to them.

My Project

My students want to take education outdoors. In this kid inspired project, we need a portable speaker system so students can listen to directions outside and follow along with movement activities to music. They will need a portable easel to display posters or instructions for their activities. They want to be able to play various activities using the agility rings, ladders, and bean bags, and come up with their own rules to their own games.

The physical education equipment will help organize groups of students to exercise and use their gross motor skills.

In our classroom, students are the problem solvers. They will be the ones to design their own activities and research whether or not they are going to be beneficial. They think they are going to be "playing", but they'll also be learning lifelong skills of working in teams, and learning the importance of exercise, staying fit and healthy, and following directions too! These donations will help develop healthy lifelong habits for my students.

My students long for more physical activity at school and to move around. I hope that my students will develop a love for exercise and make good choices. They want to move around more and we want to help them achieve their goals to develop habits for a healthy living.
