My students need phonics games for literacy centers. My students need math activities to keep math hands-on and engaging. My students need testing folders for privacy.
My students come in each and every morning energized and ready to start their day. The smallest things excite them. I want to keep them engaged and doing hands-on activities. All of the phonics games and math games help to keep the students engaged and excited at the same time. They love learning!
Majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
The school I teach at is a Title I school and all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The school has also been a focus school the past few years. My students are typically 6-7 and in the first grade.
My Project
The students will use the math materials for hands-on review and reinforcement of their standards of learning. The phonics activities will be used for independent literacy centers to review concepts taught previously. The testing folders will be used for privacy when a test is being administered. The cushion seats would be great for the students to use when working around the room. The craft materials will be used to make projects throughout the year.
If this project gets funded, my students will be provided with fun, bright, and hands-on learning activities for both math and reading.
They love getting new materials and get so excited when they are engaged in the activity.
