My students need tablets for a new project in my class that will be integrating the use of technology. My students will have the opportunity to digitally manipulate their drawings using the tablets in the classroom!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am very fortunate to teach students, who on a daily basis teach me as much as I teach them. I teach a diverse population of middle school and high school students. They each have very diverse backgrounds and they each bring something special to the classroom. My students are extremely talented and dedicated! I want to assure that I am always challenging them and helping them each receive the highest level of education possible. My students are hardworking and very bright. About 75% of the students in my school take at least one AP class. Ninety percent of my students are Hispanic, coming from homes where the parents might not speak English. This is a testament to their own dedication towards education. My students keep me on my toes and their ingenuity requires a classroom that has all the materials they need to explore their creativity and skills.

My Project

My students will have an opportunity to create digital works using tablets and therefore have a wider range of methods to manipulate their work. This will broaden their portfolios and save materials that sometimes are needed when experimenting with a piece.

The integration of technology is a must in today's art rooms.

I want to make sure that all my students are empowered with all the skills required by top art colleges. The demand for digital portfolios is growing and fusing with the art world. I want all my students to have equal opportunities to access software designed to increase their creative process and editing skills.
