My Project

My first grade students have really been affected by COVID in a variety of ways. One big thing I noticed about my class this year is their stamina is lacking. It is challenging to get them to focus on a task for longer than ten minutes. Although it has definitely improved since the beginning of the year, we still have some work to do.

My project that I am proposing is to help not only make learning fun but get them motivated to attend to a task for a longer period of time.

The way to do this is to give them a way to show what they know using art. I also plan to address their social-emotional learning by reading engaging read-alouds accompanied by fun art projects that go along with the theme.
