My students need STEM activities to feed their creativity. I am requesting a variety of KEVA sets, snap circuits, marble runs, robotic machines, and Q-BA-MAZE sets.
Every day my students complete everything I ask them to do. I want to make their day more fun while tapping into their creativity. I know they love projects, riddles, and challenges. My students need STEM activities to feed their creativity. I am requesting a variety of KEVA sets, snap circuits, marble runs, robotic machines, and Q-BA-MAZE sets. The requested materials will add excitement to school while challenging them with a project!
I teach a highly motivated, well behaved, creative, and eager set of second grade advanced learners.
I teach in a high needs area of Seattle, Washington. I need these materials in order to teach to the needs and interests of my students. This philosophy applies to each and every class that I teach. You have to teach to the students interests as well as to their needs. Advanced level learners have very distinct priorities and many of them may have sizable goals they are working toward. This takes getting to know your students by creating ways for them to share their interests and goals through classroom activities and interactions. These requested materials cover abundant topics that I can incorporate into my lessons. Their personal interests will vary, but it is a must to keep those at the center of your mind when creating activities and generating ideas. These materials will garner greater involvement, creativity, and motivation from the students.
My Project
The materials I am requesting include STEM activities. The snap circuits will be explored as we investigate the concepts of complete systems. The suspend game will be explored during our science unit of balancing and weighing. These materials will be used in rotation. They will be used for many years to come. This year, students will have an opportunity to use these materials during the math block as well as during recesses. Students will also take their learning to their buddy classroom and share their work with their fifth grade STEM buddies.
Not only will students learn the objectives of the created activity, the students will be working together, thus practicing social skills and practicing learning and listening to and from each other.
Think back to what you remember about elementary school.
Do you remember the endless hours working in a textbook? If so, I'm sorry! Chances are you remember the hands-on projects and activities that pushed your thinking while fostering creativity. These materials will help do that for many children.
