Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A day in the art room is full of creativity in all forms! A diverse set of materials fill the room and engage the students in learning. We are working toward building a foundation of art materials to explore all mediums!
This school is a Title I Charter school supporting low-income families.
The school serves students from kindergarten through 8th grade. This school is growing academically and is full of potential! The art program is an enrichment program to support creativity. Through joyful school experiences, we are forming lifelong learners and a positive school climate and culture.
My Project
Painting and making messes is a fun experience for every kid in the art room! We are building up essential supplies for a variety of art experiences. I am requesting tempera paint, sponges, paint scrapers, and paintbrushes for this project.
Experimenting with paint and textures leads to exciting results for unique backgrounds, collages, and painted papers for art projects.
These materials allow for movement and printmaking. Kids enjoy hands-on experience and can also learn a great deal about color theory by mixing paints. I know they will love the sensorial experience of using paint scrapers and sponges to make authentic prints.
