My Project

The "Let's Get Crafty!" project seeks funding to purchase materials for self-care craft activities aimed at supporting mental health and emotional well-being. My students will learn how to make essential oil candles, soap, body butter, t-shirt and mug designs, lip gloss, and bracelets. These craft sessions will be part of a broader initiative to promote stress reduction, mindfulness, and self-expression, particularly during high-stress periods such as midterms, finals, and holidays.

My students today face unprecedented levels of stress, anxiety, and mental health challenges and welcome opportunities to decompress and engage in positive coping strategies.

Crafting is a research-supported activity that encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, and fosters a sense of accomplishment. Providing regular self-care craft opportunities helps meet students' social-emotional needs, promote positive school culture, and offer an inclusive, accessible form of support for all students.
