This project is all about bringing arts and crafts back to first grade!
My school does not have the funding for an art program.
This makes me so sad because art is just as important as reading and math!
For this project we are requesting tons of crayons, including "people color" crayons, colored pencils, twistable crayons, glue sticks, manila drawing paper, playdoh, and caddies to organize our materials. The students will use these new materials in several different units throughout the year where we will connect reading, science, social studies, and art together. Can you imagine how much fun they will have reading about the life cycle of the butterfly and then getting to create their own butterfly craft as well?
