Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In the classroom each day the children walk in and have so many ideas and stories to share with their peers! Within our blended, inclusive classroom our rugs serve as our meeting spaces and the heart of our room! Helping us fund new classroom rugs will offer our students a clean and cozy space to get together to learn, play and share! The large rug will give our students the space to collaborate with each other, build with different materials, use the cars, trains, and airplanes. It will also give them an area to lie down to read their favorite stories with their peers and build friendships with each other while they work on their social and emotional skills. The smaller rug will help us to create an additional space in our classroom that will feel safe, fun, inviting, and will stimulate learning where our children can engage in imaginary dramatic play, as they take on different pretend roles.
New classroom rugs will provide a space for our students to learn with each other and explore new materials!
Ultimately by funding our rugs, you are providing our students with many opportunities to engage with one another and explore the different materials in our classroom. It will be at meeting time, read-alouds, practicing mindfulness, dancing, using hands-on materials, regulating their emotions, and taking on different pretend roles. There are always so many great conversations and discussions that happen on the rugs each day! The rugs that I have selected will give my students a clean, safe, cozy, and positive environment where learning takes place daily.
