My Students

Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. Our class has students with various intellectual disabilities but that never stops them from wanting to learn new things and having a great life.

When my class has fun cooking, they want to create more.

They want to learn new things. They want to cook more healthy and local foods. They love learning about healthy living and what makes them feel good and feel good about themselves.

My students are so special in so many ways. With their disabilities, they just want to be like everyone else. They can do more when they have fun. Having fun means being healthy.

My Project

Our class focuses on life skills. Having the students help cook and prepare healthy meals is so important in making their lives better. Since our students have disabilities, they really need to learn cooking and meal preparation. But, our electric cooking tools are old and rusty.

I'm requesting a Magic Chef countertop microwave and the Brentwood Appliances double infrared electric countertop burner.

We also need an open skillet.

Having this new microwave that is easy to use and a new double burner will make it so much easier to prepare food. We really need new cooking tools.

If we had the new equipment and supplies to cook with, our students would be able to learn the skills needed to help themselves and their families. These items will help and enable our class to succeed.
