Mrs. P. from Rock Hill SC is requesting Supplies through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Let's Get Cooking!!!

My students need items to help them learn how to cook such as a large stockpot, an electric can opener, and a programmable slow cooker.

My Students

My main goal in my class is for my students to gain independence, and one of the ways that I am trying to do that is by having them learn how to cook through items that I have requested such as a programmable crock pot, an electric can opener, and a large stockpot.

My classroom consists of 7 high school students with special needs, varying in ages 14-21.

The students receive all of their functional academics in the classroom, as well as daily living skills to help students become more independent. They are in a school with 1900 students.

My Project

The students will use these resources in our classroom daily. Students are learning to read recipes, gather ingredients, and cook recipes. These kitchen supplies will help expand the items that the students are able to create. They will learn how to cook different things. The electric can opener will help students that are physically unable to open cans by themselves. The programmable crock pot will show students how they can create a meal in advance. The large stock pot will allow us to create a variety of recipes. These items will be very beneficial to my students.

This donation will not only help my students become excited about cooking and making different recipes, but it will also help students gain skills that will help them become more independent for life after graduation.
