My Project
COVID brought about the age of virtual learning. Although we found out virtual learning was not a replacement for in person learning, we did find the use of technology was beneficial to our students. Lessons became more engaging, interactive, and assignments could be easily managed. Each student in our middle school was given their own Chromebook, case, and charger. Unfortunately, after a few years, replacing damaged Chromebooks and missing chargers became too expensive. Therefore, students returned their Chromebooks and now they are kept in carts in each teacher's room to prevent further damage and loss.
However, we do not have enough chargers to make sure each student is able to have access to a Chromebook for every class.
Middle School students use technology heavily in their instruction and assignments, and having a charged Chromebook is necessary in order to have access and be successful in class.
I have created this project to help get supplies for our students, that our school cannot. There is a push to use technology in the classroom, but if the Chromebooks can't turn on then we can't use them. I am hoping this project provides the funds needed, so that each student is able to have a fully charged Chromebook for all classes in order to be engaged in instruction and to complete their assignments with ease.
