Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education co-teacher in a Title I school. The children in our classroom have different abilities and always try their best. They love to come to school and share their stories with us. Most of our students come from very difficult lives and do not have support at home. School is their safe haven. Even with all of these obstacles, they come everyday willing to learn.

Learning does not come easy but with the help, they know they can accomplish anything.

We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, small group and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. We offer a comforting environment to learn and grow!

My Project

I have many inspirational posters that will be used both in my co-taught ELAR class and also in our Special Education resource room. We want to be able to welcome our students back into the classroom after learning from home for so long.

The phone tripod will be used in a station where students can come to make videos with Flipgrid.

Many of my students do not write and this always helps them express themselves. I have also added some materials to help organize our classes and help us make our classroom more engaging and welcoming.

Dry-erase pocket sheets are always great when we work in stations. We get to show our students how to work on activities and make corrections as needed without wasting paper.

The photo cases will actually be used to store index cards that we have the students fill out. They will be able to find their boxes and be able to pull them out and start an activity independently. I will label them with a machine I bought last year, but now I am requesting a charger for it.
