My students need two Lenovo 100e chromebooks to provide access to a modified flipped algebra classroom.

My Students
I teach 9th grade Algebra I to 112 students. I teach 4 sections of algebra which include 2 inclusion and 1 ENL class. The students in my classroom have diverse backgrounds and come from various countries.
Math is all around us so my students need a classroom chromebook to access when their one-on-one device is not available!
All of my scholars are required to pass Algebra I; therefore we have a modified flipped classroom model. The Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center strives to keep students engaged with technology. Students have access to instructional videos at school and at home, and they have embraced this model.
My Project
Struggling math students will really benefit from the Lenovo chromebooks in the flipped classroom. Students can watch, pause, stop, and re-watch instructional videos to meet their individual learning needs. Our students have one to one devices but are often left at home or uncharged. Learning must go on even when these issues arise.
In our modified flipped classroom, students will use the Lenovo chromebooks to access instructional videos for notes, assignments, and reviews.
During this time the teacher can work independently with students. The best way to improve algebra skills is to make sure ALL students have access to materials.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
