My students need a flip camcorder to capture them in action as they act out their favorite stories.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Got it!", is what I want to say when I've captured my students acting out a story. The lack of equipment at my school does not allow me to capture those moments. I want to use a flip camcorder to capture every action, so my students will be able to see themselves as they "move" across a story.
I'm a kindergarten teacher in New York and I would like to bring the excitement of acting into my literacy teaching.
The school consists of many low income families, ELL students and students with special needs. They need to be able to experience learning using many modalities. One way is through acting out a story. As they act out a favorite story, they are learning kinesthetically. If I had the tool to film that learning and show it back to my students, they would be using another modality to learn (visual). In order for me to connect to each student I need to teach in different ways because students learn in different ways.
My Project
I would like to be able to film my students using a flip camcorder. The main use of the flip camcorder would be to record my students as they act out a story. This would enable me to show it back to them, talk about the story and then have them write about the experience in their journals. I believe this type of teaching would leave an imprint in their minds so they could retain the information learned. The flip camcorder would also be used to record trips and hands-on activities done during the year. The whole year would be captured on film and during my students graduation - they could share their year of learning with their loved ones.
Your help will enable my students to experience learning in a new and exciting way.
It will help me to connect with more of my students, especially those who need to "move" and visually "see" things. A flip camcorder would open up doors to my students becoming productive and successful life long learners.
