Help me give my students high quality and engaging magazines that reinforce the curriculum and help meet standards.
I teach a Supported Kindergarten class in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, which is designed to support students with special needs within a general education kindergarten environment. The diverse population of my classroom consists of of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, English Language Learners, and General Education students. My school is Title I, which indicates a high population of students receiving free or reduced price lunch.
My students LOVE reading, but many come from homes with limited access to books or early literacy skills.
Despite the barriers, my students show lots of excitement for learning.
Let’s Find Out magazine brings engaging nonfiction to young readers. Throughout the school year, the magazine and its accompanying resources meet multiple standards in the English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies content areas of the standards.
The Let's Find Out magazine subscription gets students excited about learning about real life current events.
Each month students will have access to engaging videos that build knowledge and vocabulary, colorful magazines. There are also games that give students fun practice with sight words, phonics, and other reading skills.
After we are done with each issue, students will take the magazines home and share them with their friends and families, creating a wonderful home/school connection.
