This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 25 five year old Kindergarteners who are eager to enter the exciting world of literacy in science and social studies! They love to listen to nonfiction books and they enjoy exploring and making sense of the world around them. Moreover, they are curious about how things work and they are learning to adapt to change.
My Project
Scholastic News and Spin Science Nonfiction magazines will allow my Kindergarten students to continue to develop the love of Science, and Social Studies. The magazines help spark conversation, it builds knowledge and it inspires a love for learning.
Furthermore, the magazines promotes empathy, stress-management skills, and a growth mindset to help my students with their social and emotional skills; especially now during these unprecedented times.
The Kindness books Pack enhances positivity and it will help my students to feel good about themselves. I want my students to thrive as healthy, happy, well-rounded individuals.
Learning about holiday celebrations will help my students to gain a better understanding and appreciation of what is important to their friends, neighbors, and other people in their community. By reading these nonfiction books, I want to be able to instill in my students to value the cultural traditions of other people. It is an important part of developing healthy emotions and social connections.
By donating to my project, you are helping my students to gain a deeper understanding about their world and how they can adapt to changes.
