Help me give my students magazines for the exposure to non-fiction, real-world events that they are able to read and learn about.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Gelman's classroom raised $217

My Students
My students are learning in an urban, New York City public school. Our school strives to find the leader in all students. We try to instill personality characteristics to support the growth of their inner leader. Every child has different strengths and capabilities.
My Kindergarteners all care about one another and continually make progress as they grow into little scholars.
My 23 students are all unique. My students love to learn. Some of my students have special needs and benefit from different types of materials and modes of learning to help them succeed.
My Project
The Let's Find Out magazine provides non-fiction reading material to my students. We do not have many vast opportunities to have material on real-world content that is on their reading level. Usually their experience with non-fiction books is having one read aloud by the teacher and then discussed amongst the students.
This magazine provides great information that is easily understood and readable by Kindergarteners.
The content is relatable and interesting to this age group. The Let's Find Out magazine will also expose my students to different vocabulary words which is important as well. The photographs are also very vibrant and appealing. There is also a great technology component that comes with this subscription that my students could utilize on our classroom computers.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
