My Project

The classroom these items were selected for will assist greatly in providing functional, tactile, and educational materials for students who have high sensory needs. When the sensory needs are met the students are able to focus on academics in an appropriate manner. For example, sitting in a group for calendar and letter of the week without needing frequent breaks. Also when sensory needs are met there are fewer destructive behaviors in this particular group of students, which ultimately protects school property, other students, and staff members. We plan to use the materials to create a space the students can self-soothe. -
