My Students
My students are awesome! I have a extremely diverse population of students. I teach Art 1 and have about 150 students total. My school is part of the Cincinnati Public Schools district. What makes my school unique is the international students. Students who come to the US from foreign countries living in Cincinnati are enrolled at WUHS. Students are from Nepal, Guatemala, Africa just to name a few. They are learning to speak English and adapt to their new environment. They love culture and Art and I love letting them experience it in my art room.
My Project
Space, Shape, Texture, Form, Line and Value are the Elements of Art!! I am so excited to teach my students about using the elements of art to create projects in Art 1. Teaching students through hands-on experiences are the goals of my lessons each day. We will do research and learn how to incorporate these concepts into our work. Students will use their imagination to come up with unique ideas to express their ideas. Paper, colored pencils, water colors and sewing materials are some of the supplies we will need to bring these projects to life. When we are finished students love displaying their work in the hallways of our High School. They are so proud of their work. We love getting compliments from peers, staff and the community.
