Explore caves, discover rocks and minerals! Doesn't that sound like an experience you'd like to have? Visiting Crystal Cave as a 3rd grade student myself was one of the most rewarding parts of my younger educational experience.
This project is actually for three classes in third grade.
We would like our entire third grade to go on the same field trip. We live in a low income community. Last year most funding for field trips was cut. If we want to go on field trips, we have to have the students pay for all or most of the cost. We already received a donation for three of our classes in third grade. We want all students to have this experience in third grade. I remember going on field trips and remember what a highlight they were.
My Project
These resources will help students learn about rocks and minerals in a real setting. Not only will they spend time in the classroom studying them, but they will get to follow up and touch different rocks and minerals. I know that just like I remember my field trip to Crystal Cave, my students will also remember this trip. This field trips fits right into our rocks and minerals science unit and would be a great hands on application.
Your donation will make a difference by allowing students to go on a field trip that they would otherwise not be able to go on.
Many of our students only get the chance to go on trips through school. What a difference you can make by letting students see more.
